What is Made-To-Measure?
When you step into the world of menswear, you have a few options: off-the-rack, custom, and made-to-measure. If you buy off-the-rack, you'll get something that was made for anyone, not for someone specific, and not for you. You can take the next step and get a custom tailored garment which will take an off-the-rack garment and make it a little bit closer to your specific fit. But when you want the perfect fitting garment that's made just for you, you come get a fitting at Shepherd's. When you get a made-to-measure garment from us, we'll fit it to you, make it from scratch specifically for you, and tweak anything for free if needed (but it almost never is). When you get a made-to-measure garment from Shepherd's, you're not getting a something made for anybody, you're getting a timeless garment made specifically for you.
With made-to-measure menswear, we are not just taking a jacket off the rack and tailoring it to you. We will fit you using a template, understanding every asymmetry and every unique part of your exact fit, and create a garment from scratch with your fit in mind. No two men are the exact same shape, and their clothes shouldn't be either. When you get a garment from Shepherd's, it won't just be an off-the-rack garment that fits a little bit better – it will be a refined, fully customized staple that will elevate your wardrobe with a timeless look that never goes out of style.
When you wear something that fits perfectly, you can feel it, and others can see it even if they don't have the words to describe it. You don't need to be a sommelier to know good wine when you taste it, and you don't need to be a menswear expert to know a well-dressed man when you see one. Fitting vs Measuring
Getting fit for a garment is not the same as being measured for a garment. Measuring a man can determine his chest circumference, shoulder width, inseam, and so on and it can result in a better fitting garment then you would get off the rack. The problem is that a measurement would determine that both of these shapes are the same because they have the same circumference:
Of course, these two shapes aren't the same, just like every man with a 42 inch chest isn't the same and shouldn't wear the same jacket. When you get a fitting from us, we're not just going to measure you and make a garment with the right chest and shoulder width. Maybe your arms are set further back on your torso, your shoulders are not straight across, or your back is wider than your chest. Every man has some unique combination of asymmetries and proportions. When we fit you for a garment, we take every single one into account to make a garment that isn't made for a man with a 42 inch chest, it's made specifically for you.

Heritage quality takes time.
It takes four to six weeks from the date of your order to the delivery of your garments, depending on which fabric you’ve selected. Some just take a bit longer to arrive from the mill.
