Mill History

Drago was founded in 1973 by Umberto and Laura Drago in the Biella textile district, an area long renowned for wool craftsmanship. The original operation began as a specialized spinning company serving the local wool mills.

Over the years, the business has expanded and modernized continuously, investing in advanced looms, finishing techniques, and design development to meet global menswear demands.

Under current leadership, the company emphasizes innovation, technical fabrics, and balanced growth. Drago curates collections that combine Italian tradition and modern practicality – light weaves, elegant drape, and functional performance like stain resistance, stretch, and breathable finishes. Today, Drago fabrics are exported globally, used by leading menswear houses and tailors all across the map.

Why We Love Drago

Drago has quite an impressive offering – they are a household name among suiting brands all over the world. Drago fabric is exceptional for striking a balance between refinement and utility.

We especially love their collection called Rugby Flannel. Rugby flannel is a plain cloth without pattern and can be used for a suit, a jacket, or a pair of trousers, but we especially like to use them for our quilted Tech Vest and bomber jackets. Even though their rugby flannel is a suiting material, its Super 130's Merino wool is completely water repellent and has a generous stretch, resulting in a garment that is as functional as it is luxurious.
